Loop wins it at the horn, United States rallies for Presidents Cup win, Jays close season with victory
Loop wins it at the horn!
This is The Sports Reset for Monday September 28th
In the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Dallas Cowboys 34 to 31 in Rio. Lamar Jackson found Zay Flowers for 27 yards with seven seconds left, setting up Tyler Loop’s winning 56-yard field goal as time expired. Derrick Henry added two touchdowns as Baltimore moved to 2-and-1. The Washington Commanders handed the defending champion Seattle Seahawks their first loss, 33 to 31, behind Marcus Mariota’s three touchdown passes and Kain Medrano’s late pick-six. Josh Allen ran for two scores as the Buffalo Bills topped the Los Angeles Chargers 24 to 16, while Brock Purdy threw four touchdowns in the San Francisco 49ers’ 36-to-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns as the Pittsburgh Steelers edged the Cincinnati Bengals 30 to 27. In golf, the United States erased a three-point deficit and beat the International Team 17 to 13 for an 11th straight Presidents Cup. In MLB, the Jays closed their season by beating the Cincinnati Reds 5 to 1, with Max Scherzer striking out seven over seven-plus innings in a possible final career start.
Looking ahead, the NFL has the unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles visiting the Chicago Bears tonight. Jalen Hurts has thrown five touchdowns through two games, while Chicago will be without Caleb Williams because of a hamstring injury and could turn to veteran Case Keenum if Tyson Bagent remains unavailable. The Bears ran for 281 yards when they beat Philadelphia last season, so that ground game is the path to an upset. Beyond the scoreboard, the Boston Bruins named David Pastrnak their 28th captain after four consecutive 100-point seasons.
