Crow-Armstrong walks it off!

This is The Sports Reset for Tuesday August 18th

In MLB, the Chicago Cubs beat the Chicago White Sox 7 to 5 in 10 innings. Pete Crow-Armstrong opened the game with a first-pitch homer, then ended it with a two-run shot, becoming the seventh player to hit a leadoff and walk-off homer in the same game. The blast also gave him a second straight 30-homer, 30-steal season. The Detroit Tigers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 5, as Kevin McGonigle hit a two-run homer and Detroit moved into a three-way tie for the final American League wild-card spot.

Up next, in MLB, the Jays visit the Tampa Bay Rays, with José Soriano bringing a 3.17 ERA into a duel against 12-game winner Nick Martinez. The Rays enter with the American League’s best record, while the Jays are trying to recover from a difficult July. The New York Yankees visit the Baltimore Orioles, where Carlos Rodón returns from the injured list to face Shane Baz. The Arizona Diamondbacks meet a Boston Red Sox team riding an 11-game winning streak, and the Los Angeles Dodgers continue at Coors Field after Shohei Ohtani’s two-homer night. Beyond the scoreboard, Los Angeles Lakers governor Jeanie Buss is contesting her family’s reported plan to sell its remaining 17.8 per cent stake to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, a move that could end her control of the franchise.
